Specimen data for Arrojadite

Tom Mortimer catalog number: 1789

Identification method: Initially identified by specimen purveyor, Mineralogical Research Corp.
A follow-up EDS plot, below, supports the arrojadite identification. The EDS analysis was performed on a polished grain embedded in an Araldite epoxy block (no surface contamination present). The EDS detector had no response to elements sodium and lighter.
Arrojadite is now a mineral group mineral name with eight different "flavors" of arrojadite. This sample may be Arrojadite-(BaFe) with some Mn substitution for Fe.

Notes: Massive arrojadite may be confused with apatite.
